Piper Gordon Duncan Passes Away
Gordon
Duncan, one of the world's most well known Celtic musicians,
died suddenly Wednesday morning, a young man, at his home in
Pitlochry, Scotland.
Gordon's compositions are
played by pipers and fiddlers all over the world and his
recorded music, both solo and with bands such as The
Tannahill Weavers, Dougie MacLean and Wolfstone, has
inspired a generation of pipers.
He was best known for his
virtuoso Highland piping recordings, inspiring the music to
reach new levels, integrating his pipe and whistle with many
other instruments.
Cape Breton Live extends its
condolences to Gordon's family
and friends on this tragic loss.
